![]() When fighting against Tyson he really went after the body and hounded me the whole time. The best thing I saw from thse exhibition matches was that fighters in general fight true to form. The ideal use of block though is to press it and time it so you block an incoming punch and set up a counter. Holding block will set you up in a defensive posture but it definitely doesn't guarantee you will be safe. The new block mechanic takes some getting used to. So I set up another fight using Klitchko against old, fat George Foreman. There is definitely a stamina issue with 2 minute rounds. I played the same matchup next, only I was Holyfield and I played with default settings. The AI did an excellent job of countering me whenever I left an opening, I was very impressed. I used Tyson and went all out on Holyfield and got KO'd in the 6th. I played my first match with 12 rounds at 3 minutes each, by the 6th round both fighters were exhausted. It seems very dependent on the length of the rounds you choose, by default it is 2 minutes and the fights are 10 rounds and the difficulty is on Pro. While I was skeptical at first the scheme works really well but at the same time if you're a button guy you will have to use the stick to throw uppercuts because the way to do it with buttons just simply doesn't work, it's broken.Īs for the stamina issue, there isn't one, well sort of. The first thing I did was go to the options menu to change the controls to "button" but it's not necessary, by default the control scheme allows for buttons and throwing punches with the right stick. I wound up playing this game last night for much longer than anticipated, once I started I really couldn't stop, so here goes:
